Guilderland - Nancy Ellen (Dunham) Zlotnick, 95, died Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center Guilderland, after a long illness.
Born in Portland, ME, she was daughter of the late Carroll Kenneth Dunham and Ellen Mae Stickelmyer Dunham and wife of the late Emil Frank Zlotnick. She was raised in Aroostoock County, ME, moving to Troy at the age of 5. She & Emil retired to Willsboro, NY (Lake Champlain) and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1947, St. Mary's School of Nursing, 1950, earned her Bachelor's degree from Russell Sage College and Masters from Long Island University in Community and Mental Health Counseling.
Nancy began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy. She was a school-nurse teacher in Rensselaer County schools and retired from the New York State Department of Social Services in 1999. She was a communicant of the former St. Paul the Apostle Church in Troy.
Survivors include her children, Gary (Rosemarie) Zlotnick, San Antonio, TX, Maryellen Brooks, East Durham, NY, Terence (Margaret) Zlotnick, Rochester, Dawn (Thomas) Stanley, Summerville, SC and Andrew (Joan) Zlotnick, North Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Jonathan(Raychelle), Christopher Dunham (Theresa) and C. Adam (Michelle) Brooks, Laura (Matt) Ashley, Emily (Meagan) Stanley, Peter (Luci White) Zlotnick, Gregory (Jillian Duran) Zlotnick, Nicole (Austin) Larabie, , Andrew (Chiara) Zlotnick, and Hannah, Zachary, Michael and Joshua Zlotnick; a sister-in-law, Lillian Zlotnick, Ballston Spa; her great grandchildren, Angela, Alison, James, & Ezra Dunham Brooks, Henry Dunham & Adeline Ashley and Theodore, Jacob, Maxwell, Benjamin, Matthew & Luca Zlotnick; her nephews, Peter (Judy Meredith) Rider and Stephen Rider and many additional nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary(Stuart) Rider and Carroll Kenneth Dunham and a son-in-law, Chuck Brooks.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ Sun of Justice, RPI Chapel and Cultural Center 2125 Burdett Avenue Troy, Wednesday May 28, 2025 at 11AM with Rev. Ed Kacerguis.
The graveside service for both Nancy and husband Emil (died in 2008) will follow at 1:30PM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Road Schuylerville.
