Averill Park - Michael P. Byrne, 83,died Wednesday, March 01, 2023, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Leo F. Byrne and Elizabeth Marshall Byrne and husband of Carole A. Jansen Byrne. Mike had resided in Averill Park for 55 years and was a switchman for NY Telephone Company for almost 40 years. He also was owner and operator of Brown Swan Antiques.
Mike was an avid and dedicated Valley Cats fan who held season tickets for many years. He was a member of the Northport Woodcarvers and he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden. Mike was an Air Force veteran
Survivors in addition to his wife, Carole, include his 4 daughters, Theresa (Matthew) Rousseau, Clifton Park, Pamela Byrne, Saratoga Springs, Maureen Byrne, Naples, FL, and Denise Byrne, Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Sarah Byrne, Erin Rousseau and Shawn Rousseau. He was predeceased by his sisters, Katherine L. Flaherty and Maryellen Freer; and a special cousin, Elizabeth Magee.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 NY150, West Sand Lake, NY 12196 on Thursday, March 09, 2023 from 5 - 7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 10AM at the funeral home with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
