Troy - Melissa Lea Enslin, 57, of Troy, NY died October 1, 2021. Melissa is survived by her parents, Marianne C. Gorchov, William L. Enslin, Sr., and her step-father, The Rev. Michael I. Gorchov; her brother, William L. Enslin, Jr., sister, Laurianne Moran, four nephews and many other members of her family.
Melissa was profoundly hearing impaired, and suffered from other disabilities, yet she had many accomplishments. She was a fine athlete in her younger years. Melissa played on the boys soccer team in Middle School earning a varsity letter. She was a track and field athlete in high school. She set a High School record in the javelin throw. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree at Loch Haven University in PA, and then studied to become a licensed massage therapist. Melissa was a skillful potter and sold her work over many years in shops, fairs and galleries. She had a life-long interest in Native-American culture and spirituality. Melissa was a Confirmed Episcopalian and a communicant at St. Paul's Church in Troy, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul's Church [Episcopal], 58 Third St., Troy, NY on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with The Rev. Katherine Alonge-Coons presiding. Homilist: The Rev. Alicia Todaro. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
