Brunswick - Maureen A. (Farrell) Kehn of Brunswick passed away peacefully, January 21, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 11, 1933, in Whitehall, New York, Maureen—known to many as Mo—later moved to Port Schuyler, where she attended St. Bridget's School. She was a 1951 graduate of Catholic Central High School, where she proudly took part in the school’s very first female cheerleading team. It was there, at just 15 years old, that she met Ed Kehn while cheering for the basketball team, beginning a love story that would span a lifetime.
After high school, Maureen attended St. Peter’s School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1954. Following Ed’s service in the United States Navy, the two reunited and were married on April 10, 1955. They shared 67 devoted years of marriage.
Maureen dedicated her professional life to caring for others, working as an RN in various roles throughout the Capital District. Her career included service at Memorial Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit, St. Peter’s Hospital, Van Rensselaer Manor, and concluded with the Visiting Nurses of Troy.
Together, Mo and Ed took a leap of faith and sacrificed greatly to build Wells Communications, a family business that became a lasting part of their legacy.
A woman of deep faith, Maureen was a devoted parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill. She was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society, sang in the choir, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and formed many cherished friendships within her church community.
Mo also became a lover of golf. She was a member of the Country Club of Troy for over 40 years and participated in the ladies golf leagues. The club was one of her favorite places to be.
Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Edward Kehn, Sr.; and her beloved sons, Michael Kehn and Edward Kehn, Jr. Her parents, John and Doris Farrell and her sister, Martha Farrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Maureen “Reen” Milanese, and son-in-law, Mike Milanese; daughter-in-law, Stephanie (Mark) Kehn-Pickett; and her grandchildren, Michele (Steve) Scarff, Lindsy (Ethan) Marshall, Ashley (Jon) Hilton, Carrie Fountain, and Anthony Milanese. She was a proud great-grandmother to Izzi Scarff; Grady and Lucas Hilton; Michaela Marshall; and Liam and Maisie Desrocher.
Maureen is also survived by her brothers, John (Leslie) Farrell, Jr. and Bill Farrell, as well as her cherished nieces and nephews: Christie, John III, Justin, Shannan, Billy, and Christopher.
Her family is forever grateful to her first born grand child Michele Kehn Scarff, whose loving care and beautiful, special friendship filled her final years with compassion, laughter, a little chocolate and lots of strawberry ice cream.
Mo will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith and the quiet strength with which she lived her life.
