Brunswick - Mary Lou Harley Goyer, 85, of Miller Avenue died Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at her residence after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Lewis S. Harley and Mae Glasheen Harley and wife for 65 years of Robert J. Goyer. She had resided in the Troy area all her life, was a 1954 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a graduate of Austin Beauty School.
Mary Lou was a self employed hairdresser for many years and worked as a nurses aide at St. Mary's Hospital Troy and in data processing at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, retiring in 1999.
She and Bob wintered in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and enjoyed boating at Lake George and spending time with family.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Gary (Debra) Goyer, Averill Park, Richard (Colleen) Goyer, Grafton, Nancy O'Malley, Troy, Shelly (Teddy) Johnston, Brunswick and John (Laurel) Goyer, Brunswick; her siblings, Robert Harley, North Troy and Larry Harley, Speigletown; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert P. Goyer; a brother, Lewis Harley and a sister, Sandra Swasey.
Funeral service private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
