Wynantskill - Mary Jane Jefferson Potter, 86, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a brief illness.
Born in New York City, she was daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Marie Murtha Jefferson and wife for 62 years of the late Everett John Potter who passed away in 2022. She had resided in Wynantskill and was a graduate of St. Michael's Academy.
Mary Jane was a secretary for Newsweek for 15 years prior to being a secretary for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for 25 years.
She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and a member of AARP.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Sandie) Potter, Christopher (Brenda) Potter and Thomas (Karen) Potter; her grandchildren, Michael John and Lauren Potter and Matthew and Kristen Potter; and a great grandson, Leo Everett Potter. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Jefferson.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 4 - 7PM.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9AM at the funeral home and at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating.
Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.
