North Greenbush - Mary A. Bielas, 99, died Monday, June 3, 2024, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Burton W. Feathers and Anna Phoenix Feathers and wife of the late Paul F. Bielas. She had resided in the Troy and Brunswick areas all her life and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Mary and her husband were antiques dealers for many years and for many years she was a writer for the Troy Record and Times Union. She was also the owner of Bielas and Bielas Antiques and was part of the Brunswick Historical Society and United Voluntary Services.
Survivors include three daughters, Bonnie B. Bielas, Glenmont, Diane L. Bielas, Albany and Nancy A. Bielas, Albany; a granddaughter, Jo Bielas Klemczak; two great grandchildren, Penelope and Thea Sadow and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jamie B. Klemczak and her siblings, Ralph, Burton, Olive, Marcella and Harry Feathers.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4- 6 PM.
A graveside service will be held Friday, at 11:00 AM at the Eagle Mills Cemetery Garfield Road Eagle Mills with Rev. Bethany Popkes, officiating.
Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.
