Nassau - Marion Goewey Wells, 95, died peacefully Thursday, February 23, 2023, at her residence.
Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late William F. Goewey, Sr. and Christina F. Ernst Goewey and wife of the late Warren E. Wells. She had resided in Nassau for 61 years and was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School class of 1946 and Plattsburgh State Teachers College class of 1950.
Marion was a Cooperative Extension Agent in Delaware County, Delhi in 1950 and a 4H Club Agent and Home Demonstration Agent in Fairfield County from 53-58.
She was a member of ESQUATUCK Schodack and Nassau Historical Society, East Schodack Garden Club, a volunteer for Rensselaer County Cooperative Extension and the Doors of Hope in West Sand Lake. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill.
Survivors include a son, Richard E. (Christine) Wells, Averill Park; a daughter, Janice G. (Timothy) Dagner, West Sand Lake; her grandchildren, Amy Felock and Jeremy and Branden Dagner; four great grandchildren; two great great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jerilyn Felock; a sister, Alice Goebel and a brother, William F. Goewey, Jr.
Relatives and friends may call at the First Reformed Church of Wynantskill, Church Street and Main Avenue, Wynantskill on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 3-5PM with a funeral service to follow at 5PM with Rev. Bethany Popkes, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
