Marilyn LaFleur Obituary

Taborton - Marilyn M. (Murray) LaFleur, age 90, of Taborton, NY, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 at the Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born on December 10, 1931 in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary (Perrine) Murray. Marilyn was a 1949 graduate of Lansingburgh High School and enjoyed many reunions with classmates throughout the years. She was employed as a Teacher’s Aide at the Miller Hill-Sand Lake Elementary School for 28 years, retiring in 1992.

Marilyn was happiest spending time with her family. She enjoyed entertaining her family and friends at her home of 60+ years on Big Bowman Lake in Taborton. After retiring, she enjoyed many winters in both Savannah, GA and Ocala, FL with her much loved sister-in-law Ruby Murray. She was a lifetime member of the Bowman Lake Association serving as President, and Vice President; a founding member of the Taborton Fire Department Ladies
Auxiliary and a member of the Church of the Covenant in Averill Park. She was active in the Averill Park PTA, a den mother for the Cub Scouts and assistant leader for the Girl Scouts when her children were young.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Robert C. (Mary Pierce) LaFleur, of North Greenbush, William R. (Cynthia Brown) LaFleur of Taborton, and Barbara L. (Charles M.) Kivlen of Averill Park; her grandchildren, William R. (Desiree) LaFleur of Castle Rock, CO, Laura J. (Jason) D’Agostino of Taborton, Matthew J. (Katherine Labnon) LaFleur of Taborton; her great-grandchildren, Jackson and Casey D’Agostino and Wyatt LaFleur; a sister, Myra Dunham of FL; a brother, Charles Murray of San Antonio, TX and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was the cherished “Aunt” and “Gram” to many. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy (Joseph) Russell; brothers, Harry (Ruby) Murray and Jack (Grace) Murray; brother-in-law, Charles Dunham and sister-in-law, Joan Murray.
