Marianne Morin Obituary

Latham - Marianne P. Morin, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Peter A. Whitmore Jr. and Margaret Reilly Whitmore. Marianne was raised in Portland and graduated from Deering High School. She spent most of her life in the Troy–Latham area.

Marianne enjoyed a long career in sales with Iroquois Millwork and Brockway-Smith in Albany, where she worked for 25 years before retiring in 1998. She had a natural gift for building strong relationships and was well regarded by her many customers. She later spent several years working part-time at Blue Creek Elementary School, helping in the lunchroom and playground. She took great pride in contributing to the school community and supporting its students and faculty.

She was a devoted communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and a resident of the King Thiel Senior Community in Latham. Marianne lived life fully and joyfully. She loved reading, dining at new restaurants, and traveling. She especially treasured her annual trips to Hilton Head, South Carolina, with her daughters. Above all, Marianne cherished time spent with her beloved family and valued the many dear friendships she formed throughout her life.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Kathleen) Morin of Latham; her daughters, Patricia J. Palmer of Latham and Cindy (Mark) Caruso of Brunswick; her grandchildren, Jamie (Mark) Egan and Michael (Michaela) Morin II; and her great-grandchildren, Fintan and Ronan Egan, and Katherine and Charlotte Morin. She is also survived by her sister, Sunny Vose and her brother, Peter (Karen) Whitmore III of Maine; her former husband, Charles Morin; and her nieces, Sherrie Kirker, Kim Savage, and Hollie Vose. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Fred Vose.

The family would like to thank Dr. Drzymalski of Capital Cardiology for all his loving care and support he gave to their Mother. The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff in the Step Down Unit at St. Peter’s Hospital for their compassion and kindness during their Mother’s brief stay.
