Wynantskill - Margaret ‘Peg’ M. Haughney Church, 94, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at her residence.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Joseph Andrew Haughney and Ethel Barry Haughney and wife of the late Eugene R. Church. She had resided in a lifelong resident of Wynantskill and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Peg was employed in the business and receiving departments of the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities for several years and formerly an stenographer for Agricultural Food and Marketing.
She was a member of the Home Bureau, the After Sixers Bowling League, Wynantskill Red Hat Society and Wynantskill Seniors. Peg enjoyed working on ceramics and was an avid acrylics painter.
Survivors include her children, Bonnie J. Schroll, Schenectady, Tracy D. (Joan) Church, Wynantskill and Rebecca S. Church, Wynantskill; her grandchildren, Jason and Ryan Church, Nathan Schroll and Amanda and Brian Church and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Timothy S. Church and a sister, Eleanor Hansen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue Wynantskill with Rev. Patrick Rice, Pastor.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery Wynantskill.
