M. John Tashjian

Guilderland - M. John Tashjian, 100, died suddenly Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Troy, he was son of the late Musroob Tashjian and Satanig Patanian Tashjian and husband of the late Jane Ann Doherty Tashjian. He was raised in Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School, Champlain College and earned his Bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1952.

John was a Production Manager for Mohawk Paper for 6 years, retiring in 1988 and previously worked for Westvaco Pulp and Paper in Mechanicville, US envelope in West Springfield and CA Reed in Williamsport, PA .   

He was an avid golfer and fisherman and a member of the Mechanicville Lions Club and the Masonic Lodge in Mechanicville. John was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his son, David G. (Ruth) Tashjian, Bluffton, SC; his daughter, Barbara J. Tashjian, Guilderland; his grandchildren, Matthew David Tashjian (Monica) and Johanna Danielle Barrett (Josh); 3 great grandchildren, Claire Tashjian, Jonas and Jacob Barrett and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his siblings, Elizabeth Tashjian, Joseph J. Tashjian, George H. Tashjian, Sr., Mary Tashjian, Jack S. Tashjian, Sr. and Anna Mae Mourachian.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 6-8 PM.  

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 11AM at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Krutz, officiating.  

Interment will be Tuesday at 1PM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Schuylerville.
