Wynantskill - Lynn F. Nelson Dobert, 78, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Lynn was born in Troy, February 9, 1944 to James L. Nelson and Pauline E. Clickner Nelson, the middle child of three sisters, the sister with blond Shirley Temple curls.
Lynn leaves behind her beloved son, John J. Dobert who has taken care of her lovingly since she has been sick and is her best friend; a daughter, Patty Vartigan; and her sisters, Jean N. (Alan) Krokenberger and Jamie L. Nelson who loved her so much. Also survived by her loving grandchildren, Dana Tooley(Terry), Shannon Ring, Mark Ring Jr. and Brittany Kreiger; great-granddaughters, Natalie, Lexi, Mila, Kami, Maci, and great-grandsons, Jamesyn and Collin, and also her great granddaughters, Arryanna and Tayla Tooley who loved their grandma to the moon and back and niece, Sheri Danaher, who Lynn loved very much. She was predeceased by her wonderful husband, Charles ‘Chuck’ B. Dobert who died May 7, 2002, and her grandparents, Margaret and Walter Wiegner and Blanche and Thomas Nelson.
She had resided in Troy most of her life, in Wynantskill for the past 16 years and was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1965.
Lynn and Chuck loved to travel, they went to all the Caribbean Islands many times with sister, Jean and friends. What wonderful times they had.
She worked at the Grand Union for many years and she and her husband owned and operated two delis, Ontario Street Markets in Albany for 15 years.
Lynn loved crafts, she made beautiful items which she sold with sister, Jean at local area craft fairs for years. After Chuck died Lynn’s heart was not into it without him. We had such fun!
She loved watching tv, going shopping with John and was an avid reader, a wonderful knitter, loved to play with her great grandchildren even letting them put makeup on her and was a member of the North Greenbush Seniors.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue Wynantskill. Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills with her husband, mother, son and sisters.
