Troy - The family of Lucy Morton, age 89, lifelong resident of Troy, NY, sadly announces her passing on January 25, 2025 with family by her side at Eddy Heritage House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Troy, NY following a long battle with Alzheimers.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Sevazlian, Rensselaer; her son, Gerald Morton, Canandaigua; three grandchildren, Sonya (Kyle) Hanlon, Wynantskill, Michael Karayan, Rensselaer and Bianca (Samuel) Merrell, Wynantskill; three great grandchildren, Ayden and Lucia Hanlon and Madelyn Merrell; her son-in-law, Buzant Karayan; her niece, Sheri Bakerian, nephew Robert Bakerian and was predeceased by her brother, Vasgen Bakerian.
Lucy graduated from Troy High School. She was a deli manager at Price Chopper for 27 years. She was a very active member of St. Peter Armenian Church, as a member of the Women's Guild, choir and a Sunday School teacher. Lucy loved playing cards, backgammon and traveling with family and friends.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Peter Armenian Church 100 Troy-Schenectady Road Watervliet on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 4-6 PM.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 10 AM at St. Peter Armenian Church, Watervliet, NY with Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian, Pastor, officiating followed by interment in Memory Gardens, Colonie, NY.
