Troy - Lorraine D'Alessandro, 92, passed peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center, Troy after a long illness.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Wiesenforth and wife of the late Samuel D'Alessandro. She was raised in Troy, attended Troy High School, and resided in Watervliet for over 60 years.
Lorraine loved long drives all around New York State and Vermont, stopping at antique stores along the way. She loved family vacations to Canada and trips to Cape Cod with her daughters and grandchildren. You could always find a cup of coffee in her hand, day or night. But most of all, she adored her children - dedicating herself to them fully as a loving stay at home mom. Her legacy of unconditional love will live on through her children, and her beloved grandchildren and siblings.
Survivors include her children, Lori (Joe) Kodadar, Waterford, NY, Todd (Linda) D'Alessandro, Beverly Hills, FL and Maria Dalessandro, Ardmore, PA; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristine Kodadar (Desmond Williams) and Kathryn and Mark Micolucci Jr., her great granddaughter, Rylee Kodadar; her siblings, Donald (late Marie) Wiesenforth, Marlene (Wallace) Bryce and Thomas (late Eva) Wiesenforth and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Nelson and Robert Brott.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. Jim Knapp, officiating.
Interment will be at 12:00 PM in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Lorraine’s family would like to extend a special thank you to staff at the Heritage House who took care of her, made her laugh, and loved her.
