Linda Darlene (Haskins) King

West Sand Lake - Linda Darlene Haskins King, 73, died suddenly Monday, January 13, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Emory C. Haskins Jr. and Elaine F. Adams Haskins and wife for 52 years of Russell W. King. She was a lifelong resident of the Town of Sand Lake and was a graduate of Averill Park High School.

Linda was a teacher's aide for the West Sand Lake Elementary School for 37 years, retiring just over one year ago. She loved her time at West Sand Lake Elementary and the countless friends she made at the school over the many years.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Derick R. (Jennifer) King, Slingerlands; a daughter, Aimee (Dustin) Kot, East Greenbush; three grandchildren, Lena V. King and Reilly J. and Lila D. Kot; a brother, Emory C. (Rose) Haskins III, Jacksonville, FL; beloved sister-in-law, Ava Jean and her husband David Passino; lifelong friends, Patricia and Dave Toftegaard, adored nieces and nephews including Kelly Itsell, Lindsay Abele, Douglas Haskins Jr., Chrissy Curran and many more; She was predeceased by two brothers, Douglas C. Haskins Sr. and Robert N. Haskins.

Linda enjoyed gardening, cooking creative recipes including her legendary Mac and Cheese dish, playing games and activities, routing for the New York Yankees and traveling. She cherished the annual family vacation to Maine, where her family has made core memories together for the past 30 years. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, especially her three grandchildren who were the light of her life.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
