Loudonville- Leon P. Dekermendjian, 95, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Albany Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Aleppo, Syria, he was son of the late Puzant Dekermendjian and Ovssana Dekermendjian and husband of the late Rita T. Dekermendjian. He lived in Lebanon until 1977 when he moved to California and has resided in the Albany area since 1994.
Leon was a mechanic and owner and operator of an Exxon service center in Reseda CA and later owned LPD Auto Parts with his son, Pierre, in CA until his retirement in 1994.
He enjoyed playing belote and was passionate about cars, especially Citreons. He loved spending time with his family and was proud of his traditional Christian Armenian beliefs and Culture.
Survivors include his two sons, Mark (Dorothy) Dekermendjian, Latham and Pierre (Diana) Dekermendjian, CA; his daughter, Sonia (Moses) Sukljian, Loudonville; his grandchildren, Nubar, Levon (Erica), Dominick, Levonshant, Sophia (Sylvain), Natalie, Vincent, Moe Jr, and Christopher Daniel; his great-granddaughter, Claire; and his siblings, Krikor and John. He was predeceased by his siblings Arpine, Sylvart and Marie.
Relatives and friends may call at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church, 255 Spring Avenue, Troy on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 10 - 11AM with a service following at 11AM.
Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands.
