Averill Park - Lawrence J. Morin, 73, died suddenly Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his residence.
Born in Albany, he was son of the late Joseph A. Morin and Frances J. Schillinger Morin and husband for 53 years to Audrey Sweeney Morin. He was raised in Wynantskill and resided in Averill Park for the past 40 years and was a graduate of La Salle Institute.
Larry was a warehouse manager for American Flat Glass Distributors in Scotia for 39 years and upon his retirement in 2009 was known locally as the Glass Man.
He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Nassau Sportsman Club and the Mud Pond Hunting Club in Essex County. His motto was to work hard now, we will get plenty of rest later. Larry was a decorated combat Veteran of Vietnam (1970) (Blue Beret - Security Forces) US Air Force.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Matthew J. Morin, Sr., Averill Park and Eric L. Morin, Troy; a daughter, Julie M. (Brett Hoffay) Morin, Brunswick; two sisters, Donna Holcomb, Wynantskill and Michele Melius, Wynantskill; two grandchildren, Kristin N. Morin, North Carolina and Matthew J. Morin Jr., Averill Park; his dearest brother-in-law, David A. Sweeney; his beloved dog, Maggie McGee and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392NY150 West Sand Lake on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 9:30 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church 43 Brookside Avenue Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Edward Kacerguis.
Interment will be in St. Henry's Cemetery Averill Park.
