Troy - Kim M. Mork peacefully passed away on December 25, 2022, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center (Troy, NY) after a short illness.
Born in Brooklyn on April 8, 1953, he moved to Staten Island in 1958. A Tottenville High School graduate, Kim began his construction career during his high school years. He started as an apprentice / gofer and worked his way to owning his own construction company. When the building industry slowed down, Kim joined the Iron Workers Union and worked on various bridges in the NYC area. A bit of an adventurer,
Kim moved to New Jersey in the late 1980’s and then made his way through various east coast states working as he went, until he returned to Staten Island in 2015. In 2017, Kim moved to Troy, NY where he continued his construction career and discovered his passion for restoring vintage woodwork. Always one to make lemonade from lemons, when the restoration industry slowed down, Kim joined AutoZone as a delivery driver. He worked there until 2021.
Ever the outdoors man, Kim enjoyed gardening, hiking and any outdoor project that needed to be completed.
Kim is survived by his wife, Maria Mork, his children, Adrienne Mork, Kris Mork, Kim Mork II, Weslee Mork and Jack Thomas Mork; his sisters, Leslie Geist, Leta Mork and Claudia Lotito. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Ib J. and Ruth C. Mork and his daughter, Leticia Culmer.
