Kerry L. Back

West Sand Lake - Kerry L. Back, 76, died Thursday, July 25, 2024, at his residence after a long  illness.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late Lawrence Back and Dorothy Lewis Back and husband for 26 years of his beloved wife, Sherry S. Remley Back. He had resided the past 28 years in West Sand Lake and was a graduate of Albany High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Albany. 

Kerry was an Accountant for the New York State Retirement System for 32 years retiring in 2011.   

He loved hockey especially the Albany River Rats, world travel and his dog, Chloe. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard. 

Survivors in addition to his wife include two step sons, Kevin Toohig, Wynantskill and Michael Toohig, Newburgh; three brothers, Keith (Julie) Hammond, Bradley (Margie) Hammond and Brayton (the late Sheryl) Back and 16 Nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers, Brian, Kenneth, and Bruce Hammond.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  4392NY150, West Sand Lake on Tuesday, July30, 2024 from 1-3PM with a service at 3PM.

Interment will be in  Elmwood Cemetery West Sand Lake.
