Julio Laranjo Obituary

Troy - Julio Laranjo, passed peacefully at home on December 28, 2020 surrounded by his family.

Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Rodrgues) Laranjo.

Julio worked for the Boston Store in Latham for over 25 years where he retired. He was a WWII Army veteran stationed at Fort McClellan, AL.

Julio was a coach for the South Troy Babe Ruth for over 20 years where he was known as POP. He loved traveling and most of all Aruba with his granddaughters, Juliana and Carissa.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Serfilippi Laranjo; his children, Julio F. (Nancy) Laranjo, Robert (Mary) Laranjo, and Priscilla (Tommy) Driscoll; his 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Landmark and Eddy Palliative Care and all their staff for their compassion and support taking care of Julio.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, December 31, 2020 from 9 - 11AM with a private family service to follow. Face covering and social distancing are required both outside and inside during the visitation. Capacity is limited to 35 at any one time.

Interment will be in  St. Joseph's Cemetery Troy.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Julio Laranjo to the American Cancer Society One Penny Lane Latham, NY 12110.
