Sand Lake - Judith A. VanBuren, 72, of Sheer Road died Saturday, January 8, 2022, at St. Peter's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Albany, she was daughter of the late Harold Robertson and Hattie Brazee Robertson and wife for 54 years of David J. VanBuren. She was raised in Rensselaer and resided in Sand Lake for almost 60 years.
Judy worked as an Associate at Walmart in East Greenbush for several years and prior to that worked at Montgomery Ward, Fox's Animal Farm, K-Mart, Burton Golden Years and Villa Valenti and Regan's Steak-N-Seafood.
Judy loved many outside activities including hunting, fishing, gardening and planting and enjoyed cooking. She was a former member of the West Sand Lake Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, Karen (Darin) Masse, Bernadette (Jack) VanBuren and David J. VanBuren; a son-in-law, Todd B. Lewis; her siblings, Lillian Warner, Harold Robertson Jr., Carol LaMountain and Annette Davis; her grandchildren, Kyle Lewis, Sr., Samantha Scully, Darin (Corrin) Masse, Austin Masse, Tyrelle Lester and Avery and Elliotte VanBuren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judith A. Lewis, who died November 16, 2021 and her siblings, Charles Robertson, Linda LoPresti and Virginia Swartz.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392 Route 150, West Sand Lake on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 4-7 PM with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Edward Kacerguis, officiating. Facial covering and social distancing are required.
Interment will be in St. Henry's Cemetery Averill Park at a later date.
