Joan Elizabeth "B" Doocey

North Greenbush - Joan Elizabeth “B” Doocey, 92, died Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Joseph Doocey and Mary Smith Doocey. She had resided in Troy all her life and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Elizabeth was employed as an Administrative Assistant at RPI for many years.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Survivors include three nieces, Mary C. Shake, Lexington, KY and Joanne M. (Jeffrey) Jones, Matthews, NC and Ellen Shake, Fort Mill, SC; her great nieces and nephews, Malinda Shake, David Weiner, John Weiner, Eileen (Robert), Becker-Rendano, Kevin (Clara) Shake, Amy Shake, Gabrielle Jones, and Olivia Jones and great-great nieces and nephews, Sydney Leonard, Bobby Leonard, Stella Shake and Luna Shake.  Elizabeth was also fortunate to have had many long term friendships including two special friends, Patricia Flanagan and Cindy Ryan. She was predeceased by three sisters, Anne Marie Shake, Ellen Arnold and Dorothy Gettings; brother-in-law, Robert W. Shake, Sr., and two nephews, Robert W. Shake, Jr. and James J. Shake.

Relatives and friends may call at Sacred Heart Church  310 Spring Avenue Troy on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 10:30-11:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30AM by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.

Interment will be in  St. Agnes Cemetery Menands.
