Rexford - Jean C. Hendy, 92, of Coburg Village Way died Thursday, May 30, 2024, at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late James H. Hendy and Edna Flynn nee: Ferguson She graduated from Troy High School in 1950 before moving to Boston, Massachusetts where she pursued a career as an executive secretary. Starting at Massachusetts General Hospital where she worked for many years, Jean became Credit Manager at Teradyne, retiring  in 1995 after 24 years with the company.

Jean enjoyed her years in Boston and took advantage of all the city had to offer. She was a frequent traveler and an avid skier, visiting most of the slopes in New England and several in Europe. In warmer months, Jean enjoyed the beaches and lobster of the Maine coast, visiting Biddeford Pool on a regular basis. It was here that she (briefly) met George Bush Senior and his wife Barbara.

After her retirement, Jean spent her winters in Boynton Beach, Florida until 2010 when she moved back to the Clifton Park area. In 2012 she moved into Coburg Village in Rexford. A new chapter of her life unfolded as she met many new friends and pursued new interests. Jean enjoyed living in Coburg Village right up to the end.

Jean was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn Smith and her husband Herbert. Survivors include a Niece, Jean Manon of Brooklyn NY, and a nephew, Thomas Smith and his wife Shirley of Toronto, Ontario. She also leaves behind a great niece, Scandinavia Manon of Brooklyn NY ,and a great nephew, Alexander Manon of Los Angeles, California.

Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, June 4th 2024 , at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc., 4392 NY 150, West Sand Lake with the Rev. Dr. Patricia Bush, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, West Sand Lake, NY. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Memory of Jean C. Hendy to The Community Hospice (Gift Processing Center) 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.  Jean would like to thank the Staff and Employees of Samaritan Hospital, The Community Hospice of Albany and the Staff and residents of Coburg Village for making her final Days peaceful and comforting. Also, her team of Caregivers who worked tirelessly to care for her.
