Janet Bramfitt Obituary

North Greenbush - Janet Weatherwax Bramfitt, 84, of State Route 43 died Friday, April 30, 2021, at her sisters residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, NY, she was daughter of the late Harold David Weatherwax and Marion VanDerCook Weatherwax and wife of the late Thomas Hugh Bramfitt. She was raised in North Greenbush and lived 55 years in her beloved Texas. Janet was a graduate of Averill Park High School in 1954.

Janet was employed at WTRY, St. Coleman's Orphanage and San Jacinto College in Pasadena Texas, as (Administrative Assistant to the President), until her retirement.

She enjoyed Fine Arts and was an actress in Pasadena Little Playhouse Theater in Texas, She was an accomplished dancer of ballet and tap, was an avid reader and loved traveling to many different countries with her husband. Janet had an unbelievable green thumb. She could stick a twig in the ground and it would grow. Janet loved all animals. She had a wild turtle she trained to come when called so she could feed it. In her early years Janet did TV modeling for M. Solomon's and in her teens was on WGY every Saturday morning with her sister Sandra Billings reading plays.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Susan) Bramfitt, Schodack and Scott Bramfitt, Pasadena, TX; a sister, Kathleen Weatherwax, North Greenbush; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; 2 nephews and many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra W. Billings and a brother, Harold Weatherwax.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 4392 Route 150 West Sand Lake on Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 2-3PM with a service to follow at 3PM with Rev. Dr. Patricia A. Bush, officiating.  Face covering and social distancing are required at all times both outside and inside during visitation and services.
