Troy - Jacob Warnken, Jr., 92, died Thursday, November 6, 2025, peacefully at his home.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Jacob Warnken, Sr. and Lena Tillery Warnken. He was a lifelong resident of Troy and Brunswick and was a graduate of Troy High School.
He was a Navy veteran serving at the Fleet Sonar School in Key West Florida, USN Guantanamo Bay Cuba and aboard the USS LST 515. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Elks.
Jacob was a print type setter for Williams Press and Hamilton Press and later digital producer of the Environmental Conservationist Magazine at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Jacob enjoyed watching football and loved to putter around the house looking for projects. Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially on their many visits to Wells, Maine where he and Joan vacationed regularly for the past 50 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joan (McGuirk) and his children, Lisa (Charlie) Helenek of Troy, Brian (Joan) Warnken of West Hartford, CT and Tricia (Dann) Lammon of Troy; his grandchildren, Christopher (Elvia) Warnken, Andrew (Andrea) Helenek, Emma (Aaron) Lammon, Molly Warnken, Joshua Helenek, Abby Lammon and Maggie Helenek and a great grandson, Jacob Warnken. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jody Warnken.
Relatives and friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church 475 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 10:30-11:30AM with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30AM with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.
Interment will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery Troy.
