Holly B. (Bennett) Clarke

Troy - Holly Bennett Clarke, 78, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn Albany after an extended struggle with chronic pain, congestive heart failure and heart damage. 

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Giles Palmer Bennett and Carolyn Joyce Derby Bennett, and wife of 56 years of Robert A. Clarke. She was raised in West Sand Lake. After marriage, she resided in East Greenbush and then resided in Cropseyville for 42 years. In 2018, she and Bob moved to Brunswick. Holly was a graduate of West Sand Lake Elementary School, Emma Willard School (’65), Vermont Junior College in Montpelier, VT and earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Russell Sage in Troy in 1969. 

Holly was a teacher at Gardner Dickinson School in Wynantskill, a Director of Christian Education for Greenbush Reformed Church, and later the Director of Christian Education for Brunswick Church.   

She was an active member of the Brunswick Church for many years. Holly was a gifted bible teacher and enjoyed counted cross stitch.   

Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Stephanie Clarke, Troy; a son, Jason Robert Clarke; a sister, Cherrie (Andrew) Edwards, Troy; and a nephew, Giles and two nieces, Liesl and Bronwyn.  

Relatives and friends may call April 12, 2025 from 10-11AM with a celebration of life at 11AM at Brunswick Church 42 White Church Lane. 

Interment will be in  Brookside Cemetery Brunswick.
