George J. Finnigan

Castleton On Hudson - George J. Finnigan, 83, died Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn Albany after a brief illness.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late James H. Finnigan Sr. and Bertha L. Rohling Finnigan and husband for 46 years of Alice E. Knott Finnigan. He had resided in East Greenbush for 10 years, in 1975 moved to West Sand Lake and in 2011 moved to Castleton. George was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and earned a Bachelors degree in 1964 in economics from Siena College.

George was employed as an accounting clerk for Hamilton Printing in Castleton for 43 years.  

He was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park.  

Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Jeffrey G. Finnigan, Nassau, Laurie A. Walter, Melrose; his siblings, James H. Finnigan Jr., Albany, Suzanne E. Mahlstedt, Albany and Thomas C. Finnigan, North Carolina; two grandsons, James Keaton Walter and Quinlan Finnigan and several nieces and nephews.

Service at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in St. Henry’s Cemetery.
