George Edward Ellis

Averill Park - George Edward Ellis, Sr., 74, died Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Albany, he was son of the late George Albert Ellis and Margaret May (Fox) Ellis and husband of the late Lillian I. (Clark) Ellis. George and his wife, Lillian, had resided in Averill Park since 1969.  

George was a glazier for American Glass for over 30 years retiring in 2004.   

He was a man of the outdoors, who loved camping, boating, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed bowling and listening to his favorite artist, actor and musician, “The King of Rock and Roll”, Elvis Presley.    

Survivors include his children, Eileen G. (Keith) White, Averill Park, Tracy (Richard) Varian, Nassau, Tonja (Greg) Cates, North Carolina, George (Kelly Lynch) Ellis, Jr., Averill Park, and Tena (Daniel Guyup) Ellis, Mayfield; 19 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; his siblings, Stewart (Kathy) Ellis, Annamay (Teddy) Crawford, Charles (Barbara) Ellis, Wilson (Kathy) Ellis and Margaret Simmons; and many  nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandson, Keith White, Jr, and his siblings, Georgeann Bushaie and James Ellis.

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 4392NY150, PO Box 275 West Sand Lake on Friday, June 17, 2022 from 1-3 PM with a service to follow at 3PM with Rev. Karyl Hopp, officiating. 

Interment will be in  Brookside Cemetery Barberville.
