Faith M. Palmer

RENSSELAER - Faith M. Palmer, 89, died peacefully Friday, February 27, 2026, at Van Rensselaer Manor. 
 
Born in Amsterdam, NY, she was daughter of the late Thomas Palmer and Helen Nichols Riggi.  She was raised in Amsterdam, resided in Albany many years and in Rensselaer for 10 years. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Institute in Amsterdam and attended Spencer's Business Institute in Schenectady.
 
Faith was a copy clerk for the Amsterdam Recorder newspaper for several years and prior to that at the Albany Times Union for several years. 
 
In high school, Faith was a dancer and performed with the dance troupe, the Roxiettes.  Faith always enjoyed dancing and writing.  Faith was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her greatest passion was her interest in and the company of her family. 
 
Survivors include a son, John M. (Maryann) Rizzo, Colchester, VT; two daughters, Rosemary (Katherine Maciol) Rizzo, Troy and Elizabeth (Steven) Hayes, Granville; her former husband, John A. (Janet Lynch) Rizzo; her grandchildren, April, Amber, Sean, Anthony and Amelia Rizzo, Rachael (Nick) Blake and Christopher Hayes; her great grandchildren, Cole and Rylie Mattison and Cameron Hayes; two sisters, Michaela (Larry) Farley and Vickey Gilmore and several cousins, nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, James M. Rizzo and a brother, Thomas Palmer.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 4-7PM.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 10AM at St. Mary's Church 10 Lodge Street Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Rendell Torres, Rector.

Interment will be in  St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery Amsterdam.
