North Greenbush - Everett John Potter, 87, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Sterling, MA, he was son of the late Gerald Potter and Mary Peppin Potter and husband for 62 years of Mary Jane Jefferson Potter. He was raised in Schaghticoke and was a graduate of Hoosic Valley High School and Hudson Valley Community College.
Everett was a computer technician for IBM for 34 years, retiring in 1996.
He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill, the Knights of Columbus #12637, Boy Scouts, Elks and AARP. He was an avid bowler, loved gardening, working around the house and wintering in Florida. Everett was a Staff Sargeant in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Michael (Sandie) Potter, Christopher (Brenda) Potter and Thomas (Karen) Potter; a brother, Donald (Betty) Potter; four grandchildren, Michael John and Lauren Potter and Matthew and Kristen Potter and a great grandson, Leo Everett Potter. He was predeceased by a brother, Jerome Potter and a sister, Marlene McGrath.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 3-6PM.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 8:30AM at the funeral home and at 9AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.
