Elizabeth "Ellie" C. (Hoenderop) Rescott

Rensselaer - Elizabeth “Ellie” C. Rescott, 90, died Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at her residence after a  long  illness.

Born and raised in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Ellie was the daughter of the late Gerard Hoenderop and Helena Roomer Hoenderop.  She was a travel consultant for Lindbergh Travel in Amsterdam, Holland where she met and married the love of her life, the late, John L. Rescott, in 1955.

They resided in West Sand Lake, NY, where they raised their children. She most recently lived in Rensselaer, NY.

 Ellie was a member of Sand Lake Baptist Church and the Rensselaer Senior Center where she volunteered as a tax counselor.   She loved doing crafts, spending time with her family and working in her gardens.  Ellie enjoyed line dancing with John.  

She leaves a son, J. Chris (Mary) Rescott, VA; two daughters, Deborah  (Richard) Cretaro, East Greenbush, NY and Tammy L. (Peter) Carbone, PA; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by great granddaughter, Gracelynn Elizabeth, and two sisters, Tillie Couzy and Gertruida P. Warner. 

Relatives and friends may call at the DeGraaf-Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  4392NY150, West Sand Lake on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 10-11AM with a funeral service to follow at 11AM.

Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, West Sand Lake.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth C. Rescott to The Community Hospice (Gift Processing Center) 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208, whose staff cared for Mom like family.
