Elizabeth "Bette" Teal Obituary

Sand Lake - Elizabeth (Bette) Teal, age 87, died Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital Troy.

Born in Troy on October 29, 1937. Elizabeth was the daughter of the late James W. Bonesteel and Margaret Daniels Bonesteel and sister to the late James J. Bonesteel. Elizabeth was a devoted wife of Kenneth H. Teal. They were high school sweethearts and married right out of high school and were married 68 years. Elizabeth was a lifelong resident of Sand Lake and was a graduate of the Averill Park High School class of 1956.

Elizabeth worked for Blue Cross & Blue Shield and then worked for the Averill Park Central School System as a Teacher Clerical Aide for thirty one years before she retired. After she retired from her job, she enjoyed babysitting for Louis Cioffi IV and Ryan and Emma Deo whom she cherished.

Elizabeth is a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. She enjoyed going to luncheons with her dear friends and her graduation friends. She also leaves behind a large circle of life time friends in particular Marion, Peggy, Pam, Theresa and Nancy. Elizabeth was a very loyal, pleasant and friendly person and always had a smile on her face. She was quite a baker and loved giving her baked goods to her dear friends or anyone who dropped by for a visit. You would see her walking in the village of Averill Park on a daily basis with her buddy, Courtney, at her side. She spent five months vacationing in Englewood, FL during the winter months and was very active in the community going to all their functions. Elizabeth was a former member of the Black River Raiders Snowmobile Club, Ladies Auxiliary Troy Lodge of Elks, and the Sand Lake Seniors and enjoyed all their trips and functions.

Survivors in addition to her husband include her beloved children Barbara A. Dean (Glenn) of Wisconsin, John A. Teal (Lynn) of Ballston Lake, four granddaughters: Mari Schneider, Jenna Dean, Yvonne Dean & Mia Teal, eight great-grandchildren, Wesson, Mesa, Tucker, Tessa, Xavier, Emery, Winry and Bjorn,  two nieces Jo-Anne Czachorowski, Jacqueline Schnieder, and one nephew Jimmy Bonesteel. Elizabeth was predeceased by her cherished cousin, Mary Ellen Clemente, godson, Bobby Clemente and niece Janice Bonesteel.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional care received by the doctors, nurses and staff at Samaritan Hospital.
