Brunswick - Elizabeth “Betsy” Theresa Durivage, 97, died Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at her residence.
Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late William Mittelsted and Elizabeth Schuh Brizzell and wife the late Felix Durivage Jr. She was a lifelong resident of Troy and Brunswick and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Betsy was a homemaker, a baker and gardener. She loved making chili sauce, tomato juice and meringues.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and active in the Sacred Heart Women's Club. She was also a member of the Leisurettes Bowling League, Hi-Way Recreation Mixed Doubles Bowling League, Battenkill Country Club, Hugger's Golf League and Birchkill Arts and Grafts Guild. Betsy served on the Board of the Brunswick Historical Society and chaired their Collections Committee along with organizing and running the annual bake sale.
Survivors include her daughter, Elaine (the late Robert) Mammen; her son, William J. (Monica) Durivage, Sr.; her grandchildren, William J. Durivage Jr. and Rebecca M. Durivage; a sister, Eileen Dunham and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Dorothy Kuhlmey, Marie Decker and Theresa Dunham.
The family sends a special thank you to Dr. Lisa Thorn and her staff for their excellent care over the many years.
Relatives and friends may call at the Sacred Heart Church 475 Pawling Avenue Troy on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM withe a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor.
Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Troy.
