Obituary

Wynantskill - Eliza Mikhitarian Wronowski,103, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2023. She was born in Troy, NY on December 25, 1919 to Mary (Bezjian) and Harry Mikhitarian. Eliza was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1937. She worked for the NYS Department of Labor as a senior account clerk for 25 years.

Eliza married William Wronowski in 1946. After both retiring in 1981, they were fortunate enough to travel and eventually spend winters in Florida. They enjoyed 60 years together until Bill’s death in 2006.

Eliza was a lifelong member of the United Armenian Calvary Congregational Church. She was a woman of great faith who believed she was blessed to be born on Christmas Day. During difficult times she would always say, “Tomorrow will be a better day.” Her compassion, love and generosity were bestowed upon everyone she knew. Eliza had a very long, independent and active life being able to drive until she was 95! She loved watching Saratoga racing, the Yankees, reading, doing crossword puzzles and sudoku.

Eliza is survived by her son, Thomas (Susan); her grandchildren, David (Erin) and Catherine O’Grady (Patrick) and great granddaughters, Brigid and Claire O’Grady and Whitney Wronowski; sister, Mary Bernstein; sister in law, Rose Wronowski and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles, Albert, Jack and Harry Mikhitarian and Dorothy Donelian.

Honoring Eliza’s wishes, there will be a private prayer service for the family with interment at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery alongside her husband. In lieu of flowers, Eliza requested donations to a charity of your choice.  We recommend using the brycefuneralhome.com website to share or send condolences or light a candle.
