West Sand Lake - Edward ‘Ned’ M. Mullen, Jr., 61, of Algonquin Road died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his residence after a long illness.
Born in Troy, he was son of the late Edward M. Mullen, Sr. and Ann Fennelly Mullen and husband of Amy Teal Mullen. He had resided in the Averill Park area most of his life. He was a graduate of Averill Park High School and attended SUNY, University at Albany.
Ned was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in Troy for 32 years, retiring in 2015.
He was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park and was a member of NALC Br. 358, APA Pool Leagues and Hi-Way Recreation and Troy Bowl bowling leagues.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his son, Antonio (AJ) Decker; his stepchildren, Nicole and Jacob Steinburg, Zachary Engwer, Leigh Tedesco and Jason Ostwald; 6 grandchildren; a sister, Susan (John) Kalafut Wilkins and two brothers, David (Lynda) Mullen and Larry (Tonya) Mullen; and his nieces, Julianne Batista and Chelsea, Allison and Devan Mullen. He was predeceased by a brother, Rev. Owen J. Mullen.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Henry's Church 39 Old Route 66 Averill Park on Monday July26, 2021 from 9-11AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11AM. Face covering and social distancing are required if not vaccinated.
Interment will be in Taborton Cemetery Taborton.
