Edward Daniel McCue, Jr.

Troy - Edward Daniel McCue, Jr., 70, died on July 11th, 2023, at home after a long illness.

Born in Honolulu, HI, he was the son of the late Edward Daniel McCue, Sr. and Dorothy Consaul McCue and husband of his beloved sweetheart, the late Mary E. Ormsby McCue, who passed in April, 2020. He had resided in the Troy area for the past 60 years, was a graduate of Troy High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College.

Ed worked for Hannaford Brothers for 30 years, where he served in many Management roles, most recently as a Project Manager before retiring in 2018.

He was an avid sports fan including the Yankees and Giants, but mostly dedicated to attending his grandchildren’s sporting events including tennis, soccer, baseball, football, softball and basketball. Ed was a gift giver. He especially loved spoiling his grandchildren and always came up with the coolest gifts.  He was known for his great sense of humor, his smile, and his kindness to everyone. He was known by many to be the sincerest, hardest working, and dedicated person that they have ever met.  He enjoyed vacationing with his family to Hampton Beach, NH, Wildwood Crest, NJ. and Sarasota, Fl. In Sept of 2019, he and Mary took their long-awaited Anniversary trip to Ireland.   

Survivors include his three sons, Edward D. (Kara) McCue III, Troy, Cory R. (Erin) McCue, Averill Park and Thomas R. McCue, Sarasota, FL; his grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia, Teagan, Aidan, Payton and Rory McCue; a brother, David (Judy) McCue, Myrtle Beach; a sister, Michelle (David) Hempstead, several nieces and nephews and countless friends.

The McCue family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Peters Hospital and to our Rensselaer Co. Hospice Care Team for your care, support and guidance during such a difficult time for our family.
 
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 4-7 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 at 9:30 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Patrick Rice, Pastor of St. Jude the Apostle Church, officiating. 

Interment will be in  Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
