Douglas V. Williams

Mechanicville -  Douglas V. Williams joined his wife in heaven on Sunday, June 29th after battling a long illness. Douglas was the son of the late John and Grace Wood Williams. He grew up in Troy. But most recently the past six years resided  in Mechanicville, New York.

Douglas devoted his entire life to taking care of his family. As he worked in sales for a majority of his life, working tirelessly to ensure that he would be able to provide a wonderful life for his wife and three children. 

Those of you who knew Doug well recognized his favorite place to be was on his boat with his wife and family on Lake George. He was the captain of his ship, and that’s where he was the happiest. Now our captain is sailing with the angels in heaven with his wife beside him.

Survivors include his sons, Douglas J (Jen) Williams and Derick, F Williams and daughter, Darcy Williams and his three beautiful granddaughters, Khloe Williams and Madison and Emma Kancyr, who he completely adored. They were so fortunate to have such a great Poppy. They are lucky to have so many fond memories of him. We are glad that he’s finally at peace and with his wife and his parents.
