Eagle Mills - Donald C. Houser, 90, died Sunday, July 17, 2022 surrounded by family after a courageous 22 year battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Brunswick, he was son of the late Harry M. Houser and Mary Claren Houser and husband for 63 years of Marilyn Dayton Houser. He had resided in Eagle Mills all his life and was a graduate of Troy High School.
Don was a Supervisor for Bell & Howell in Albany for 28 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Eagle Mills Fire Department, Brunswick Lodge of Elks and enjoyed watching the Yankees so much he waited to see them beat up on the Red Sox one last time, attending his grandsons sporting events and playing golf. He was a Staff Sergeant with the Air Force during the Korean War.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Donna (Robert) Welch, Troy; two grandsons, Chris and Matthew (Katherine) Welch; a sister, Alice Rogers (the late Arbie), a favorite niece Joyce (Thomas) Smith, numerous in-laws and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Marguerite Hewitt, Mary Arnold, Carl Houser, George Houser, Ruth Swenor, Hazel Snyder, Marietta Bonesteel, Harry Houser and John W. Houser, Sr.
Relatives and friends may join us for a celebration of the life of Donald at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 4-7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Bethany Popkes, officiating.
Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery Eagle Mills.
