Dona Reardon Obituary

AVERILL PARK - Dona M. Snyder Reardon, devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend and employer entered into eternal life on Independence Day, July 4, 2025 after facing cancer with remarkable strength and grace.

Born in Troy on March 11, 1966, Dona was the daughter of Emogene Schillinger Snyder of Wynantskill and the late David A. Snyder Sr.  Dona was married for 35 years to her soulmate  Timothy B. Reardon. She was the proud mother of Garett M. (Mikayla) Reardon of Sand Lake and Brian A. (Kristen Reynders) Reardon of East Greenbush.  Dona reveled in sharing her sons’ heroic stories and selfless acts as Rescue Squad Firefighters for the City of Troy.  No one kept closer eye on Dona during her long and courageous battle than her beloved black lab Kimber.  Dona was the little sister of David A. Snyder Jr of Averill Park, big sister to her twin brothers Dean (Kelly) Snyder of Malta and Darrin (Joann Mason) Snyder of Sand Lake.  She was the sister-in-law of John P. (Sandra) Reardon of Troy, Eileen R. (Blaine) Berner of Clifton Park and Michael J. Reardon of Cohoes.  Dona leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews and 8 great nieces and nephews.

Upon graduating from Mercy High School in Albany, Dona earned her associates degree in business from Hudson Valley Community College.  She then joined her father at Walter Snyder Printer, Inc. in Troy and went on to become the first female President in the company’s 130 years in business.  Dona was deeply committed to the success and longevity of the family business.  She was well respected by her many clients, vendors and most importantly her employees.  Amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 crisis, Dona led with heart and determination, doing everything in her power to protect the business and more importantly, the livelihoods of those who depended on it. Dona will leave a long lasting legacy within the printing community and will be greatly missed.

Dona found great joy in cooking for her family and friends and was always ready to host a celebration.  She and Tim created countless cherished memories with loved ones during their many years at the Great Sacandaga Lake.  Christmas was especially magical in Dona’s hands filled with festive decorations everywhere and thoughtful gifts for everyone.

Dona was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill and was a member of the Printing Industries Alliance serving as a Director from 2005-2011, Treasurer from 2011-2013, Vice Chair from 2013-2015 and Chairwoman from 2015-2017.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Jude the Apostle Church on Brookside Avenue in Wynantskill on Tuesday, July 8 from 4 - 7pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9 at 9:30am at St. Jude the Apostle Church.
