Pittstown - Dexter B. Dickinson, 71, died Monday, December 12, 2022, at his residence after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late J. Leslie Dickinson and Rose A. Brust Dickinson and husband for 48 years of Sandra Whittaker Dickinson. He was raised and resided in Wynantskill until moving to Pittstown in 1975 and was a graduate of La Salle Institute class of 1969 and of Florida State.
Dexter was a printer most of his life, beginning with the family business, Regal Art Press in Troy from 1974-1996 and later Eagle Press in Albany and for 17 years at Fort Orange Press in Albany as an estimator. Most recently, he was proud of getting his license and driving trucks for his son's business, SMD Builders.
His greatest passion was spending time with his grandkids and anything related to trains, train watching, bike riding and traveling with his beloved wife and family and friends. Dexter enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing and traveling. He was a member of the Craftsman Club, a printers organization.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three sons, Jeremy (Hilda) Dickinson of Troy, Shawn (Christine Honiker) Dickinson of Grafton and Scott (Cherri) Dickinson of Troy; seven grandchildren, Latesha Mercado, Elaina Lamphere, Tyler, Ella, Zoey, Chase and Mason Dickinson; a brother, James (Janet) Dickinson Jr. of Wynantskill, NY; a sister, Patricia Foster of Westmere and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue Troy on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 4-6 PM with a funeral service to follow at 6PM with Rev. Terry Lamphere, officiating. .
