West Sand Lake - Charles F. Van Brocklen, 81, died Monday, December 28, 2020, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
Born in Amsterdam, NY, he was son of the late Douglas B. Van Brocklen and Nancy Marnie Van Brocklen and husband for 52 years of Ruth Killingbeck Van Brocklen. He had resided in the West Sand Lake area for the past 45 years. He attended Ravena Schools until 11 grade and was a 1958 graduate of Philip Schuyler High School.
After high school, Charles served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years.
He was a telephone technician for AT&T for 42 years retiring in 2003.
Charles was a Boy Scout leader, Junior Achievements Advisor, he enjoyed bowling and was an avid Mets fan. He was a very moral man with a generous heart; a tremendous sense of humor and a strong love for family and country.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Ruth, include his 3 children, Carrie Cameilo, Lansingburgh, Russell Van Brocklen, West Sand Lake and Robin Van Brocklen, West Sand Lake; his niece, Deborah Van Brocklen; and grand nephew, Devin Howie
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service followed by your life stories of Chuck on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2PM at Salem United Methodist Church Shaver Road in West Sand Lake with Rev.
