Charles F. Nold

Troy - Charles F. Nold, 70, died Saturday, May 8, 2021, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, after a long battle with several health complications.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Joseph C. Nold, Sr. and Helen Liney Nold. He was a life-long resident of Troy and attended Sacred Heart School, LaSalle Institute, and graduated from Troy High School. 

Charlie was an entrepreneur. He was a talented and skilled self-employed woodworker and carpenter for many years. Charlie was also an excellent cook and loved making meals for those he loved. In addition to being a carpenter, Charlie also operated Nold's Tavern and The Snack Shack for several years. 

He was a former member of the Troy Elks Lodge, a passionate golfer, an avid dart player, and loved betting on the horse races. He was also a huge fan of his beloved Yankees and Giants. Additionally, Charlie's fondest memories involved attending and helping with boxing events around the world.

Survivors include his children, Charles Nold, Karisa Capone, Jesse Kacensky, Kiara Chapko, and Brennan Nold; his siblings, Barbara (David) Bonesteel, Rita (Timothy) Reilly and Joseph C. (Jessica) Nold, Jr.; two grandchildren, Abigail Kacensky and Jacob Falzo; his special friend, Linda Jones; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his former wife, Lois Ann Daley, and by his beloved dog, Jeter.

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy, on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 6-8 PM. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 475 Pawling Avenue, Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. John Yanas, Pastor. Face coverings and social distancing are required both outside and inside during visitation and services.
