Charlene A. (Baker) Gilooly

Wynantskill - Charlene A. Gilooly, 73, died Friday, April 5, 2024, at St. Peter's Hospital  after a brief illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. Baker and Bertha M. LaHut Baker and wife for 51 years of Richard Michael  Gilooly, Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Troy and Wynantskill and a graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Charlene was an executive staff member for the Senate leaders office of the NYS Senate for over 35 years retiring in 2005.

Charlene’s passion was her family, but mostly spending time with her beloved granddaughters.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Richard, include children, Ryan J. Gilooly, Debra M. Gilooly, both of Wynantskill; her grand daughters, Emma and Kathryn; her daughter-in-law , Kristin Gilooly;  her siblings, Nancy (Robert) Gustin, Patricia (Gary) Mallory, Donald (Patricia) Baker, Jr.; her sister-in-law, Denise Baker; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand  nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Kevin Donald Gilooly and  Richard M. Gilooly, Jr.and her brother, Scott  R. Baker

Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc.  276 Pawling  Avenue Troy on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4 - 7PM.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, at 8:30 AM at the  funeral home and at 9AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Patrick Rice, officiating.

Interment will be in  St. Joseph's Cemetery Troy.
