Troy - Carol Kobuskie, 81, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center.
Born in Gloversville, Carol was the daughter of the late Leonard and Edna (Boles) Kobuskie. Carol spent a lot of time during her youth at a family property in Bleecker, NY where she learned to ride ponies and went on many grand adventures with her family.
Carol graduated from Gloversville High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Education from SUNY Cortland and Master of Science from SUNY Albany. Carol then became a teacher, eventually moved to Troy, and taught at the Troy City School District until she retired.
In her free time, Carol could be found at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Tanglewood, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, The Mount, and many other regional entertainment venues and retreats. Carol was also a fan of classical and orchestral music and would often attend concerts at the Albany Symphony Orchestra and plays at the Capital Repertory Theater.
When Carol was not enjoying events at entertainment and cultural venues, she was an active member of the Empire State Capital Volkssporters walking club and was very proud of how many miles she walked and the places she visited. Carol also was an avid reader, lifelong learner, and liked to travel and visited many states and countries throughout her life.
Carol is survived by her very dear cousin Katie (Kobuskie) Kelly, Katie's husband, Bruce, and many cousins and friends who will miss her sense of humor and kindness.
