Wynantskill - Carol M. Farrell (68) passed away comfortably and peacefully at home in Wynantskill on January 24 surrounded by her loved ones after a ferocious battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Wynantskill, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Virginia Melius. The youngest of five siblings, she grew up cradled in love.
A graduate of Catholic Central High School in 1973, Carol’s life was measured in laughter. A devoted wife, mother, sister, nana, and friend, Carol knew the secret to anything was a good laugh. Her sense of humor carried her through the years and made her a favorite in any room she entered.
Carol was a lifelong resident of the Capitol Region, however, those that knew her best, understood she always sparkled brighter when she was by the ocean, specifically on Diamond Beach in New Jersey.
She enjoyed baking for everyone. Her love shining through her sweet creations.
Though her years of retirement weren’t as long as she wished, she made the best use of her time with countless trips with her devoted husband of 42 years, Joseph.
Carol is survived by her husband, Joseph; sons, Joseph (Rebecca) Farrell and Ryan (Nicole) Farrell, and daughter, Katherine Farrell. She is also survived by her sisters, Judy (Curt) Pelon and Patricia Melius and brother in laws, Ian (Nancy) Farrell and Timothy (Theresa) Farrell. She is also survived by her precious grandsons, Logan and Declan; countless nieces and nephews; and irreplaceable friends made throughout all phases of her life.
She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Virginia Melius; brother, Michael Melius; sister, Christine Melius; and mother-in-law, Mary Farrell.
Please join us in a celebration of life at Pat’s Barn 110 Defreest Drive in North Greenbush on Friday, February 2 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
