Slingerlands - Carol Ann Daggett, age 90, died peacefully Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Peregrine Senior Living at Guilderland.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William "Wally" Joseph Murphy and Jane Prout Murphy and wife of Clark B. Daggett for 65 years. Carol was raised in Troy and resided in Albany, most recently in Slingerlands. She was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1953 and Mildred Elley class of 1954.
Carol was an executive secretary for National Commercial Bank and Trust Company of Albany, now KeyBank, for six years, where she and Clark met.
Friendly and outgoing, Carol was an active contributor to her community. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Albany where she served on the Vestry for six years. Carol also served as a treasurer of the Junior League of Albany and on the Board of St. Margaret's Home for Babies. Carol loved coloring, crossword puzzles, word searches, and watching college and NFL football. She enjoyed her trips to Southern Vermont and autumn drives. She loved dogs. Her great love of Christmas earned her the nickname “Christmas Carol.”
Survivors in addition to her husband, Clark, include her 2 daughters, Cori Elizabeth (Jon Kaplon) Daggett, Salisbury, CT and Cristi Anne (Jule) Kovacs, Latham, NY; her grandchildren, Julian C. Kovacs and Ana and Alison Kaplon; and her cousins, Dixie Baldrey and Douglas Baldrey.
Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home Inc. 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 4 - 7 PM.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 107 State Street, Albany, NY 12207 with Rev. Christina Hunter, Rector, officiating.
Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery Menands.
