Carol Gail (Snyder) Anderson McNall

Poestenkill - Carol Gail Anderson McNall, 91, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at her residence after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Walter Snyder, Jr. and Helen Haskins Snyder and wife of the late Robert Anderson and Edwin McNall. She was raised in Troy, resided most of her life in Poestenkill and was a graduate of Troy High School. She served in the Navy Reserve after graduation. 

Carol worked full time for the New York Telephone Company in the accounting department until she married her first husband, Robert E. Anderson and moved to Poestenkill, NY to become a full time homemaker and mother. 

She was an active member of the Church of the Covenant in Averill Park where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher along with singing in the choir, and being a member of the Altar, Membership and Worship committees. She was also active in the Poestenkill Library and Historical Society. After the death of her first husband Robert, she married her second husband, Edwin McNall. They lived on Crooked Lake, NY in the summer and Port Orange, FL in the winter. After Ed’s death she moved back into her family home in Poestenkill with her daughter next door to her son.

Her family would like to send a sincere thanks to Community Hospice and Carol’s dedicated caregivers. A special thanks goes out to her long term caregiver Lynn Noesen who provided years of loving care in her home. Their dedication and care enabled her to comfortably remain at her family home that she loved.

Survivors  include her daughter, Christine Anderson, Poestenkill; her son, Neil W. (Laurie) Anderson, Poestenkill; grandchildren; great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Edwina Rummel and a brother, Dirck Snyder. 

Funeral service private at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.
