Poestenkill - Carlo Joseph Mai, 62, died Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital Boston, MA after complications from Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Joseph Mai and Theresa Rodino Mai and husband of Ann B. Murray. Carl was a lifelong resident of Troy until moving to Poestenkill in 1996. He was a 1979 graduate of La Salle Institute.
Carl was an independent contractor for over 40 years and most recently ventured with his buddy Gene on doing family remodeling jobs.
He was a passionate NY Yankees, Giants and Knicks fan who loved Pearl Jam and enjoyed cooking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hosting gatherings with friends and family and was an amazing and gracious host who made everyone feel welcome in his home. He loved participating in his children’s activities,
vacationing with Ann and several friends on the South Coast beaches, and sleepovers with his precious grandkids.
Survivors in addition to his wife, include his children, Danielle (Michael) Giulian, Pittsfield, MA, Julia Mai, Poestenkill, Kathleen Mai, Troy and Joseph Mai, Poestenkill; his grandchildren, Eli and Ashton Giulian; his sister, Judy (Michael) Nash; and many nieces and nephews.
A private wake will be held at Bryce Funeral Home, Troy, NY at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church 475 Pawling Avenue Troy with Rev. John Yanas , Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill. Immediately following, a Celebration of Life reception at Franklin Terrace, Campbell Avenue Troy, NY.
