Troy - Bronislaus Joseph “Joe” Wilk, 101, died Friday, September 6, 2024, at Eddy Heritage House Nursing Center after a brief illness.
Born in Mechanicville, NY, he was son of the late Joseph Wilk and Edith Gaide Wilk and husband for 77 years of Angela F. Caruso Wilk. He was raised in Mechanicville and after the war moved to Troy. He was a graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Joe was in maintenance for the General Service Administration.
He was a a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Church and enjoyed playing golf. Joe was a Sergeant during World War II Army Air Corp where he was a Tank Inspector.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Donna Wilk Hanlon, Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Devin Lavin and Daniel Hanlon; three great grandchildren, Brooke, Jack and James Lavin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Stephen, John, Henry and Edward Wilk, Helen Kardas, Nellie Driggers, Mary Hanrihan and Louise Van Gelder.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Michael the Archangel Church 175 Williams Road Troy on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 9-10 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM with Rev. Edward Kacerguis.
Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum Troy.
